The factor that causes most problems in developing effective presentation skills - nerves. Some presentation nerves can be good when we are to give a presentation. It helps to get the adrenaline going and make us more energetic and focused on giving and effective presentation that impacts the audience and our purpose is achieved.
However, too many nerves can get in the way of developing our presentation skills. It has anumber of names - presentation fear, public speaking fear, public speaking anxiety etc. With all those names it is a common problem and this is evidenced by the fact that it is regularly the number one fear in studies into people's fears. We are not alone when we have presentation nerves.
